The fundamental emotions of man, deciphered by LEE Hyewon(b.1985), transform gracefully between the spheres of the abstract and the concrete. Within the alchemical process which transmutes the invisible into the visible, materials initially undergo physical deconstruction. These repeated cycles evoke a prayer for change, a liberating catharsis.
The artist aspires to illuminate the implicit meaning according to which the fundamental aspects inherent in each human being can, in part, find appeasement through destruction and become deeply integrated within oneself. This work embodies the awareness that, although the emotional intensity of a given situation remains constant, its form can be sculpted. By maintaining this awareness, the artist guides the viewer through the maze of understanding and accepting their own emotions.
Les émotions fondamentales de l’homme, décryptées par LEE Hyewon(née en 1985), se métamorphosent avec grâce entre les sphères de l’abstrait et du concret. Au sein du proces- sus alchimique qui transmutel’invisible en visible, les matériaux subissent initialement une déconstruction physique. Ces cycles répétés évoquent une prière pour le change- ment, une catharsis libératrice. L’artiste aspire à éclairer la signifi- cation implicite selon laquelle les aspects fon- damentaux inhérents à chaque être humain peuvent, en partie trouver apaisement à tra- vers la destruction et s’intégrer profondément en soi. Cette œuvre incarne la conscience que, bien que l’intensité émotionnelle devant une situation donnée demeure constante, sa forme peut être sculptée. En maintenant cette prise de conscience, l’artiste guide le specta- teur à travers le dédale du compréhension et de l’acceptation de ses propres émotions.
